A bat that tested positive for rabies has been found in the Kingspoint area of James City County.
The Peninsula Health District says the bat was found dead in the basement of a house and was tested for the rabies virus.
Anyone having information regarding any exposure to this animal (bite, scratch or contact with saliva by open wound or eyes, nose, mouth) is asked to contact the Health Department at (757) 603-4277
