Hamden, Connecticut- An 88-year-old woman had to be hospitalized after she was attacked by a raccoon she thought was her pet cat.
According to The Courant, the woman let her pet cat into the house through a sliding door and that’s when the raccoon followed the cat inside.
She thought the raccoon was the cat and tried to pet it. The animal then attacked her.
The raccoon bit the woman on her elbow, hand, forearm, lip and chin. The animal also charged two officers. He was euthanized.
The woman has been released from the hospital.
