Naval Air Station Oceana held an aircraft mishap drill on Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming air show.
The training exercise simulates an aircraft mishap on the flight line during an air show. It allows the Navy, the City of Virginia Beach, the Commonwealth and Sentara Virginia Beach General and Sentara Princess Anne Hospitals to react and develop coordination across all entities involved.
The Air Show is scheduled for Sept. 20-21 and every year in preparation for the air show, the Navy and local first responders simulate a potential accident/mishap.
