Yorktown man injured in Newport News shooting

Newport News, Va. – Police in Newport News are now investigating after a man was shot on Wednesday.

Holly McPhereson with the Newport News Police Department says they received calls about the incident at 2:45 p.m.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of Deputy Lane. A 22-year-old man was hit in the leg.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.  The victim told police he does not know who shot him or how he was shot.
