Several streets in Downtown Suffolk were closed on Thursday afternoon due to a investigation involving Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue at the Godwin Courts Building.
The 100 block of East Washington Street, 100 block of Bank Street, 100 block of North Commerce Street, and the 100 block of North Main Street, which runs in front of the building, were closed while the investigation is underway.
The building was evacuated and searched before being determined to be safe and the roads reopened.
