Dare County, Va. – Three people were arrested in a breaking and entering case on Roanoke Island, according to Chief Hoggard of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.

On February 17, 2014, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a residential breaking and entering on Roanoke Island.

Authorities investigated for several months, and a K-9 was used for tracking purposes.

The case was then submitted to the Dare County Grand Jury for review.

Bills of indictment were issued for three suspects. The bills were served on August 22 and August 23, according to Chief Hoggard of Dare County.

Authorities say it is alleged that the suspects harbored another suspect involved in this incident. More arrests are expected, Hoggard says.

Deputies arrested 20-year-old Courtney Elizabeth Sadley of Roanoke Island. Sadley is charged with Breaking and Entering and Larceny after Breaking and Entering. Sadley was released on $5,000 bond.

Also arrested was 22-year-old Otto Joel Stetson of Manteo. Stetson is charged with Harboring a Fugitive, and was released on a $1,000 bond.

The third suspect arrested has been identified as 23-year-old Ashley Mae McCarter of Manteo. McCarter is charged with Harboring a Fugitive and was released on a $5,000 bond.
