Sweetest Southern Corn Cake

1 1/4 cups flour
3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
4 tsp. salt
2 Eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 Tbs. mayonnaise
2 cups cream corn

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  Place all ingredients into a bowl and combine with a hand mixer. Pour into 8x8 pan and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.

Cream Corn

2 cups corn kernels
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbs. granulated sugar
Pinch of black pepper
1 Tbs. butter
1/2 whole milk
1 Tbs. all purpose flour

In  skillet over medium heat, combine the corn, cream, salt, sugar, pepper and butter.  Whisk together the milk and flour, and stir into the corn mixture.  Cook stirring over medium heat until the mixture is thickened, and corn is cooked through.
