Norfolk offers photo IDs to registered voters who need them

Norfolk, Va. – If you’re a Norfolk resident and you do not have a valid form of identification, you can get one from the city.

Forms of ID that will be accepted  include a valid Virginia Driver’s License or DMV issued  photo ID card, a U.S. Passport, valid employee photo ID, government-issued photo ID card, valid college or university student photo identification from an institution of higher learning in Virginia.

If you don’t have one of these, you can request a voter ID from your local registrar’s office. This ID will can only be used for voting purposes.

The Norfolk Office of Elections is located 810 Union Street in the City Hall Building in Room 808. They are open from 8:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There will be several events for Voters who need the ID. See the schedule below:

Wednesday, October 1 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Norview Community

Center, 6380 Sewells Point Road

Friday, October 3 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Southside Aquatics Center,
1750 Campostella Road

Friday, October 10 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Mary D. Pretlow Anchor
Branch Library, 111 W. Ocean View Avenue
