The head football coach at Perquimans High School has been suspended.
A spokesperson for Perquimans County Schools tells NewsChannel 3 Elvin James has been suspended from coaching for letting two students play, despite having assault charges filed against them.
Both players are 18 years old.
The charges against them involved assault and battery.
The school has now suspended them from the team.
