In what is believed to be the first time this has been caught on film, a group of marine biologists recently witnessed a pod of killer whales trapping and eating a tiger shark near Costa Rica.
As the Barcroft TV video’s narrator describes, Caroline Power and Nicholas Bach were following the pod of three killer whales when they spotted the whales in pursuit of a tiger shark.
The whales swim repeatedly around the shark until eventually biting its fins off.
