Virginia Beach, Va.-- Make-A-Wish Foundation celebrated a 14 year-old's recovery, giving him a shopping spree at Lynnhaven Mall on Sunday afternoon.
Lavar Davis, Jr. recently had a heart transplant. He and his family arrived to the mall in a limo and applause. "It's good. It's fun," said Davis.
Lavar's heart condition is hereditary and his father also had a heart transplant almost 19-years ago. "He's doing way better than I thought with the procedures and everything," said Lavar, Sr., his father. "I think he's doing excellent. He came a long way in a short amount of time."
After suffering total heart failure, Lavar is doing much better almost four months after his transplant. "He's here now. He's excited. He's healthy. He's doing well," his father said.
