Ever wish there was a way to raise money for charity by doing something you’re already supposed to do?
Wish no more. The developers at WoofTrax created the free “Walk for a Dog” app. They are hoping to lower obesity levels in canines in a more effective way.
The app is simple and easy to download. All you need is a location for the shelter of your choice and a canine friend and you’re ready to walk for a cause.
Once downloaded, press “start walking” and the app will keep track of the length of your walk. When stopped, all of the calculated distance will be credited to the shelter selected and will eventually turn into money donated. The more you walk, that means more money can be donated. Remember, every mile counts.
Funded by sponsorship, advertising, and investors, donations are sent out a couple of times throughout the year and a notification is sent out when done so.
Even if you don’t have a dog, tell a friend! There is no limit to how many people or pets can join in. This is a great way to get everyone involved in a fun and healthy manner.
For those of you heading to the adopt-a-dog events this weekend, that’s the perfect opportunity to give this app a spin.
