Newport News, Va. (WTKR) - Newport News Police have identified a man shot and killed inside a home on 30th Street late Tuesday night.

Police say Brandon  Peter Dudley, 21, was shot several times and was pronounced dead at a hospital just before midnight.

Another man inside the house, 19 years old, was also shot one time and taken to the hospital. He's expected to be okay.

Police say before the shooting, both men were downstairs in the house when Dudley heard someone in the alley next to the house.

When Dudley looked outside, police say several shots were fired.

Dudley's girlfriend Renee, who declined to give her last name, was inside the house at the time of the shooting.

"He was looking out the window and that’s when he got shot. All I heard was like gunshots back to back. I didn’t know it was him who got shot," she told NewsChannel 3's Darragh Copley Wednesday.

In a tearful interview, Renee described Dudley as a loving father and through tears begged anyone who knows who killed him to come forward.

"I never got a chance to say I’m sorry. I love him. Nothing and then he has a son. What is his son going to do?" she asked while sobbing.
