Virginia Beach, Va. – He won big!

As a Washington Redskins fan, Terry Anderson “had two things to celebrate when he visited the Virginia Lottery’s Customer Service Center in Hampton on Monday”. The first was the Redskins victory over the Tennessee Titans the previous day. Even more importantly for the Virginia Beach man, he had a $100,000 winning ticket in the Lottery’s Redskins Game Face Scratcher game.

It happened when he bought a ticket at Rite Aid, 1177 South Rosemount Road in Virginia Beach. When he scratched the ticket, he didn’t realize at first how much the ticket was
really worth, according to Virginia Lottery officials.

“I thought, ‘Well, heck, I won $100!’” he said as he claimed his prize.

But as he examined the ticket more closely, he saw that it was actually a $100,000 winner.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I started shaking.”

The recent retiree said he hopes to use his winnings to pay bills and make some home improvements.

Redskins Game Face is one of dozens of Scratcher games available from the Virginia Lottery. The game features prizes ranging from $5 all the way to $100,000.

Anderson is the second player to claim the $100,000 prize, which means one top-prize ticket remains unclaimed.
