Newport News, Va. - If you were planning a trip out of Newport News through People Express, you'll have to find an alternative.
The executive director for Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport says People Express can no longer operate out of the terminal building.
They say this is due to lack of payment of passenger facility charges.
These are fees that are administered by the FAA. The Airline collects the fees on behalf of the airport and they are used for capital improvements.
People Express has not given these funds to the airport in the past three months. Until this debt is paid, they will no longer be granted access to the terminal.
