Single vehicle accident in Suffolk caused by deer

Suffolk, Va. – Emergency Dispatch received a call at 7:22 p.m. of a single vehicle accident on the 1200 block of Glen Haven Road this evening.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue arrived to the scene to find a pickup truck overturned in a ditch. The driver of the vehicle  tried to avoid hitting a deer.

The driver and passenger of the truck were both medically assessed and treated by Suffolk Fire and Rescue at the scene. The passenger was airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was ground transported to Sentara Norfolk general Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was temporarily closed following the accident.
