Man wanted for attempted robbery at Newport News 7-Eleven

Newport News, Va. - Police are looking for a man wanted for attempted robbery at a Newport News 7-Eleven store.

On November 24, 2014 at about 12:30 a.m. police responded to the 7-Eleven store located at 744 J Clyde Morris Blvd. in reference to a business robbery.

The store clerks told police an unknown man entered the store, produced a handgun, and demanded money from the register.

The clerk showed the suspect the money in the register and the man cursed and left the store without taking anything.

The suspect is described as a black male, six feet tall, around 150 pounds, wearing a blue bandanna, with white designs covering his face, a gray hoodie, black slacks,
black shoes and black gloves. The suspect was carrying a black handgun, police say. The man matches the description of the suspect that robbed the First Virginia/Check Smart
business located at 696 J Clyde Morris Blvd. on November 19, 2014.
