Everything Chase Patterson has ever worked for is now burned and charred.
"I'm here to make an honest living, pay for my stuff, live my life. Life is short and whoever did it doesn't understand this," Patterson told NewsChannel 3.
He's the president of his own company, Albemarle Landscapes. This weekend, police say someone vandalized his trucks, and set three of them on fire.
"Fire, destruction, just madness, just crazy. It's something I'd never ever wish upon anybody. It takes a sick minded person to be able to do that," he said.
He thinks he lost nearly $250,000 worth of machinery from his business that he started when he was just a teen.
Starting the business was at the encouragement of his dad.
"One day he was like, 'Son, I'm going to buy you a lawn mower and a trailer. I'm gonna give you that and you make that what you want," Patterson told NewsChannel 3.
Because of that advice, he has one thing to say to whoever destroyed his trucks.
"I'm glad you wasted your time because it's not going to stop me whatsoever. It's just going to make me stronger. It's gonna make me come back at whoever has done this harder and faster."
