Chesapeake, Va. - Police are investigating after a man was shot in the back at a Chesapeake apartment complex. The victim suffered possible life-threatening injuries.

A neighbor told NewsChannel 3 he heard two gunshots at about 5 p.m. Next, he saw police. "It seemed like ten police cars coming through and I'm like, 'Wow. Really, again?'"

Police say a car near the scene was involved, but they're not saying how. Evidence was marked off next to it, and police swept it for fingerprints.

Police are currently searching for a suspect in this case.

Neighbors say they're tired of violence near their homes. "I've been here all my life and it's been a peaceful neighborhood, but now all of a sudden it's going down, man. All these outsiders coming in here and stuff. It's getting ridiculous," one neighbor told NewsChannel 3.
