One hospitalized after fiery crash in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – One person was hospitalized after a car burst into flames after a crash early Saturday morning in Suffolk.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police responded to the scene of the single vehicle accident in the 6200 block of Route 58/Holland Road at the Downtown Holland Exit at 4:37 a.m. and found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the median.

Both the driver and the passenger were able to escape  the vehicle.

The passenger was ground transported to Southampton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The driver was evaluated and released at the scene.

The fire was brought under control at 5:03 a.m.

Medic 1A, Engine 4, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, EMS 1, Engine 7, Medic 7A, and Car 10 responded to the scene.
