Utah mom who went viral after ultrasound reaction gives birth to quadruplets

A Utah woman whose reaction to finding out she was having quadruplets went viral in October,  gave birth to two sets of identical twin girls on Sunday.

The babies were born around 3:00 p.m. via Caesarean section at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, according to Fox13Now.com.

Ashley Gardner and her husband Tyson had struggled with infertility for the past eight years. Ashley became pregnant with the quads on their first in-vitro attempt.

Ashley’s reaction to the ultrasound went viral

A video showing Ashley’s reaction to the news that she was having quadruplets and chronicling their infertility story, went viral in October. It has over a million views.

The babies are two sets of identical twins. Three of them weigh a little more than 2 pounds while the fourth weighs a little less than 2 pounds.  The odds of conceiving two sets of identical twins are about 1 in 70 million, according to the press release.

Ashley and Tyson have named their daughters Esme, Evangeline, Indie and Scarlett.

The couple posted on the “Gardner Quads” Facebook page that TLC was present for the pregnancy and birth and will continue to follow them over the next several months.
