Hampton, Va. - A 14-year-old girl remains in critical condition after being hit by stray gunfire while attending a party on New Year's Day.
Police received a call of a shooting at the party in the 700 block of Childs Avenue at 9:24pm and found the teen suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The girl was struck by one of several bullets from a shooting outside the home. The shots went into the home where the party was taking place and hit the victim.

She was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
The incident and motive are still under investigation.
