Chesapeake, Va. – A Chesapeake man was arrested and charged after a chase and crash early Friday morning.

A Virginia State Police trooper conducting radar on I-464 around 12:30 a.m. witnessed a black, 4-door Dodge driving 79 mph in a 60 mph zone.

The trooper initiated sirens and lights in an effort to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. The driver exited off I-464 and onto South Military Highway, heading northbound.

The suspect’s vehicle ran off the road and hit a pole.

The suspect was identified as Mario Lamont Ferebee. He was released from the hospital and into the custody of Virginia State Police before being taken to the Norfolk City Jail.

He was charged with DUI and felony elude, receiving no bond.
