Suffolk, Va. – A Suffolk woman was arrested on multiple charges Sunday after allegedly smashing windows of a trailer and attempting to assault police in the presence of her 12-month-old son.

30-year-old Jenna Lea Pierce was arrested after police responded to a complaint that she was damaging property in the 3800 block of Pughsville Road.

According to police, Pierce and her infant son had been staying with friends across the street when she became drunk and began arguing with them and damaging property around 2:25am.

She allegedly left their home, then began screaming at them through a window and broke the glass in their front door

When police arrived they found her across the street, where she had apparently broken the window to her trailer to get inside, leaving her son outside while she crawled in through the broken glass to open the door.

During the course of the investigation she refused to obey commands and continued to walk inside the trailer while carrying the child even though she was unsteady, police say.

Medics were called to assess Pierce’s condition, and after her arrest she became extremely belligerent and attempted to kick the officers and kick out the windows of the police cruiser.

Pierce was taken to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail and charged with Assault & Battery – Police Officer or Firefighter, Abuse & Neglect of Children, Attempt to Commit Misdemeanor and Resisting Lawful Arrest.

Child Protective Services was notified and the boy was placed in the care of his father.
