Arrest made in robbery, attempted homicide at Blu Frog Bar & Grill in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Virginia - Chesapeake Police have arrested a man in connection to the robbery and attempted homicide that took place early Thursday at the Blu Frog Bar & Grill on Cedar Road.

Police say two employees were closing up for the night around midnight when they were approached by a person. The person forced both employees inside the bar and began to rob the business.

One of the employees suffered multiple lacerations and the other was not injured.

Both managed to escape and call 911.

The injured employee was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

On Saturday, January 17th, police took 34-year-old Jason E. Carter into custody at his residence. During the arrest, Carter attempted to take one of the detective's weapon and indicated that he wasn't going to jail.

Carter was taken to the Chesapeake City Jail and charged with robbery, attempted homicide (of the robbery victim), assault on a law enforcement office and attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer.
