Hampton, Va. - Students at Kechoughtan High School were released early after officials say a student found a note indicating a threat to the school on Thursday morning.
Police say at 10:13 a.m. school administrators notified them about the potential bomb threat. The school was then placed on lock down while police investigated the incident.
At around 11:37 p.m. during the investigation, a police canine indicated there may have been a suspicious item inside. As a precaution, students were let out of school early. Hampton crews did a sweep of the building and the adjacent campus and no threat was found.
The sweep was complete by 3:52 p.m.
