Newport News, Va. – Right now officials are investigating a fire they are calling suspicious.
It happened in Newport News in the 100 block of Poplar Avenue.
A passerby discovered the fire and called for help at around 11:37 a.m. on Tuesday.
When units first arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from a window of the house. They went inside and put out small fire on the second floor.
They were able to get the fire out by 11: 47 p.m.
No one was injured. The house was vacant at the time.
Officials are still looking into what actually caused the fire.
