Virginia State Police looking for info in York County hit and run incident

York County, Va. – Virginia State Police is asking the public for assistance in a hit and run incident that occurred January 15th around 6:30 p.m. in the Coventry section of York County.

Police say a 47-year-old Coventry resident was running along Coventry Boulevard when she was hit by a grey or silver four-door vehicle when crossing Peachtree Lane.

The vehicle was turning onto Peachtree Lane from Coventry Boulevard when it appeared to be stopping but then struck the victim in the side, causing her to fall to the ground.

The car stopped for a short minute and then continued.

The victim was unable to get a description of the driver as the vehicle drove away.

State Police observed that the area of the incident is not lit and was dark at the time of the crash. The victim was not wearing a reflective vest at the time she was struck.

State Police continue to investigate the incident and are seeking the public’s assistance for any information leading to the possible driver or vehicle responsible in this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 757-424-6800
