A Pennsylvania lawmaker is working to stop the use of human targets at shooting ranges.
They are the silhouettes used for target practice.
The bill from state representative Thaddeus Kirkland aims to ban the targets at all civilian shooting ranges in the state.
He says the targets encourage violence against real people.
Republican lawmakers like state representative Rick Saccone are not as convinced and think it could make things more dangerous for law abiding citizens.
"This could make you less prepared if you're not practicing on a human silhouette, which is the most likely target you're going have in a situation where you're being accosted or someone's trying to attack you in some way. And the other point is you should be allowed to practice as law abiding citizens against any target you want,” says Saccone.
Saccone says he thinks the chances of passing the bill are slim.
