Newport News, Va. – Newport News Police need your help to solve a recent robbery case.
On January 6, 2015, just after 7:00 p.m., police responded to a home in the 700 block of 34th Street regarding a report of a robbery.
The victim, a 49-year-old Newport News man, told police he was exiting his vehicle to visit a friend in the 700 block of 34th Street when he noticed a group of seven males walking south between the apartment buildings, checking apartment doors as they moved towards Marshall Avenue. Two of the males broke off from the group and started heading in his direction. One male pressed a hand gun against his car window and ordered him out of the vehicle, police say.
The first suspect is described to be a black male with a dark complexion, approximately 15-19 years of age, wearing a dark colored hoodie over his arms.
The second suspect is described to be a black male with a dark complexion, approximately 15-19 years of age, wearing an older style camouflage jacket.
The suspects took the vehicle. Police later found the vehicle at 7:55 p.m., abandoned and running in the 900 block of Wickham Avenue. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
