Man faces cocaine, burglary charges in Newport News

Newport News, Va. – Police have made an arrest in three commercial burglaries in Newport News.

On Wednesday January 21, 2015, detectives released video in reference to three commercial burglaries in the southeast community of Newport News.

On January 22, 2015, Newport News Police detectives received information in reference to the commercial burglaries that occurred at the H&H, Big Apple, and Bronx Deli.

Wardell Wright of the 1100 block of 16th Street was taken into custody at his home. He is charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of possession of burglary tools, three counts of grand larceny, and two counts of wearing a mask in commission of a felony.

Wardell Wright was also charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police say.

The majority of the property taken from the stores and other evidence was recovered. Wright is currently in custody at the Newport News City Jail.
