Hampton, Va. – Police have arrested a Newport News man for a tanning salon robbery in Hampton.
It happened on January 22 at about 9:46 p.m. Police responded to the Sundays Blue Box Tanning Resort, located in the 100 block of Coliseum Drive, in reference to a robbery from a business complaint.

Police say the suspect, armed with a pipe, entered the business, and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the business.
When the robbery occurred, police say there were no patrons inside of the business and there were no injuries to any of the employees.
The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Matthew Garza of Newport News.
