Virginia Beach, Va. - Neighbors living on Bloomsbury Crescent in the Strawbridge area say it's been decades since their street has been paved and they want city officials to fix their road, claiming the road is in such poor condition it's a safety hazard.

The road is bumpy, full of loose gravel, and cracks. Alahna Burton, an 8-year old who lives on the street, sent NewsChannel 3 a video showing how bad the road is. "Okay so you said you were going to get a road fixed and now you didn't even fix it," she says in the video.

Her dad, Pieri Burton, says he's been working for years to try and get the road repaved, but the most they've gotten so far is cracks in the road filled with tar. He says he's worried for his daughter when she plays on the road. "I believe this road is dangerous enough where they can get a lot of abrasions. It's happened to multiple kids here," he said.

A spokesman from the city's public works department said he needed more time to look into the issue because a reporter called after employees had left for the day. NewsChannel 3 will continue to work to get answers.
