UPDATE: Woman dies after hit and run accident in York County

UPDATE: A 23-year-old woman has died from her injuries after she was hit by a vehicle in York County on Sunday night. 

She has been identified  as Alyssa Lynne Rhoades of Yorktown. 

Police were notified at 5 p.m. by Riverside Hospital about the woman’s passing.

York County, Virginia – Virginia State Police are investigating a hit and run accident that landed two people in the hospital with major injuries.

Police say the accident happened between 9:30-10:00 p.m. Sunday night.

A man and a woman were walking on southbound Route 17 near Grafton Drive when they were hit by an unknown vehicle.

The two were transported to Riverside Hospital.

There were no witnesses or a description of the vehicle.
