Virginia Beach, Va. – 33-year-old Edward James Pope is facing involuntary manslaughter charges after police say he shot his friend on February 3, 2015.
This happened at 2601 Lishelle Place in a parking lot.
Police say the victim, 22-year-old John Ross Neil, walked with Pope to the parking lot where Pope was showing off a gun. At some point Pope shot the gun and Neil was hit police say.
They say there wasn’t anything suspicious about this case.
Pope was charged with involuntary manslaughter and has been released on bond.
