WTKR/WGNT is looking for a weekend Meteorologist/Weather Reporter to be a part of an aggressive and smart First Warning Storm Team. The focus of this station is to win breaking weather. If you know the science, can master the technology, and communicate in a compelling way, you’re the right person for this job. You’ve got to be ON IT! You will be part of our Taking Action and Getting Results team if you:
- Can independently run the technology (WSI and Baron’s VIPIR radar) and constantly invent new ways to use it.
- Will constantly reach out to viewers and users on all social media and the station’s web page.
- Are driven to be first, best and right.
- Will fight to get into work during severe weather and will never wait for a call.
- Can work as a team with the other meteorologists.
- Can work as a team with the entire newsroom. This means clear and frequent communication with producers.
- Have a degree in meteorology and on-air forecasting experience.
- Have reporting experience.
- Want to be important to your community by giving them the best forecasts and severe weather coverage, and by being an accessible personality.
Journalism degree preferred.
