Hampton, Va. - The driver of a moped has died as a result of a crash in the 1200 block of Todds Lane in Hampton, police say.

The call came in at 6:24 a.m. on Thursday. A 1986 Chevy Blazer was headed westbound on Todds Lane. The man driving the SUV hit the moped while making a turn from Todds Lane onto Whealton Road. The moped was headed eastbound on Todds Lane at the time, police say.
The driver of the moped involved in the crash was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Police say the driver of the moped has been identified as 75-year-old Lloyd Dempsey Wynn of Newport News.
Todds Lane was temporarily closed in both directions at Whealton Road for the investigation.
The Commonwealth's Attorney will decide whether or not charges will be filed, once the investigation is complete.
