Virginia Beach, Va. - Police responded to Kellam High School Friday morning following a reported threat of a "potentially large disturbance"
that would take place at the school, according to police.

A rumor on social media suggested that a fight would take place today.

Dino Chirco, who grew up in New York, says he would have never expected a scene like this in Virginia Beach.

"I thought I moved away from it. You think your kids are in a really safe spot up here at Kellam but I guess this goes on everywhere," he says.

His son Michael tells us fights have been going on all week.

"The whole week there were a bunch of fights and stuff and I guess at the last day of the week, they decide today's a day to have more security," he says.

It also prompted the principal to send out a recorded phone call to parents saying it's just a rumor. But that extra security was called just in case.

Virginia Beach Police say in the end there were no fights and no issues.
