Dare County, NC. – Two people were arrested Thursday as a result of a drug investigation.
The Dare County Narcotics Task Force was working an investigation on several individuals who were traveling to Virginia to pick up Heroin and bring it back to Dare County to distribute.
When the individuals returned to Dare County, a vehicle stop was conducted.
Heroin, Alprazolam, Suboxone, Marijuana and paraphernalia were seized in a search of the vehicle.
Police arrested 31-year-old Matin Lewis Hardy Jr. of Wanchese and charged him with Possession with the intent to Distribute Heroin, Misdemeanor Possession of Alprazolam, Misdemeanor Possession of Suboxone. He is being held in lieu of a $70,000 secured bond.
Police also arrested 28-year-old Samuel Friedrich Baum of Manns
Harbor. He was charged with Possession with intent to Distribute Heroin, and outstanding warrants for Felony B&E, Larceny after B&E, Obtaining Property by False Pretenses and Possession of Stolen Property. He is being held in lieu of a $60,000 bond.
