Virginia Beach, Va. – A VDOT contractor’s vehicle was hit by another vehicle in a work zone on I-264 on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:46 a.m. on eastbound I-264 near Lynnhaven Parkway, according to Virginia State Police.
Police say a 1987 Volvo driven by a woman identified as Connie Cole or Virginia Beach, was traveling eastbound on I-264 when she lost control and ran off the road, striking a parked 2011 Chevy pickup truck on the right shoulder. m
The parked truck was not occupied. It was owned by Atlantic Underground, Inc.
Cole was taken from the scene with minor injuries. She was charged with reckless driving and no seatbelt.
