Police identify man wanted for early Wednesday murder in Hampton

Hampton, Va. – Hampton Police are investigating a homicide after finding a man shot to death inside of a car early Wednesday morning. Police have identified a suspect in connection to the murder.

Officers were responding to a shots fired call in the 300 block of Brightwood Avenue just before 2am when they found the deceased man inside of a white Chevy Impala.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Marcus Major.

Paris Small

According to police, the investigation has revealed that the suspect and the victim knew each other. Before the shooting took place, the suspect, Paris Marcellis Small and Major got into an argument. Small then pulled out a gun and shot Major.

Another victim, a 19-year-old woman, was not injured.

Small is currently wanted for one count of murder, one count of attempt maiming, two counts of use of a firearm in commission with a felony and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Neighbor Joel Raymond says he heard six shots in rapid succession, then two return shots from a smaller caliber gun.

Raymond has lived on Brightwood Avenue since 2000. He says the victim dated the daughter of a family who lives on the street, but he didn't know the victim very well.
