Woman hit by car on Indian River Road in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – A woman was hospitalized after a car crash in Virginia Beach early Saturday afternoon, police tell NewsChannel 3.

At 2:13 p.m., police responded to reports of an injured person lying in the middle of the 2600 block of Indian River Road near Indian Plantation Drive.

It was reported that the vehicle ran off the road and into the woods. Police say it is a single vehicle accident.

The driver of the vehicle, who is a woman, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the woman who was driving the vehicle was found in the road and was then taken to the hospital. She is expected to be okay.

No charges have been made at this time.
