Virginia Beach, Va. - The third annual 'The Art of Being a Military Child' art exhibit is being displayed at Lynnhaven Mall on Tuesday.
The event officially kicks off on Wednesday, April 1.
The exhibit will be displayed throughout the month of April.
April is the Month of the Military Child, according to Navy officials.
Above, you will find pictures of the artwork that is on display.
The exhibit gives children of military families a chance to interpret what it means to them to be a military child, including lifestyles, and different cultural experiences.
The actual exhibit opens Wednesday in the mall's center court.
The contest was open to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade who go to school in the Virginia Beach Public School System.
Participants and award winners will be recognized in a ceremony on Wednesday evening.
Additional support for the ceremony will be provided by the U.S. Fleet Forces Band and the Landstown High School NJROTC Color Guard.
The ceremony will be held Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. NewsChannel 3's Kurt Williams will be hosting the event.
