Auckland, New Zealand – A lucky New Zealand woman cashed in on an April Fool’s Day promotion involving a $50,000 BMW.

Team McMillan BMW in Auckland, New Zealand posted a small ad in the New Zealand Herald on April 1st offering an “April Fool’s Day Special,” according to the newspaper.

The ad said the first person who came into the dealership and ask for “Tom” could swap their vehicle for a brand new BMW.

While most people ignored the ad, thinking it was a prank, one woman, Tianna Green, showed up at the dealership at 5:30 a.m. in her 15-year-old Nissan station wagon, with the ad in tow.

Just in case, the dealership had hired extra security in case riots broke out. But as the video shows, Tianna appeared to be one of few who decided to see if the ad was legitimate.

The manager says he tried to play dumb and fool Tianna but just as the ad stated, she asked for “Tom” and just like that, she was a winner!

Tianna got to drive off in a brand new BMW, leaving her 15-year-old Nissan behind.

“This year’s effort, our most audacious and elaborate yet, is one we’re particularly proud of as we believe this reverse April 1 joke to be a world first, especially giving away a brand new car,” said BMW spokesman Ed Finn told the New Zealand Herald. “The ad was intentionally vague and definitely appeared too good to be true, but in this case we wanted to turn the tables and reward the first person who was willing to take the chance.”

Finn said that the Nissan will be on display at their Mt. Wellington office before being auctioned off or sold.

The money from the vehicle will be donated to GoBabyGo, a charity that provides modified ride-on cars to young disabled children.
