Union County, N.C. – A former Union County social worker will be released from jail soon after being sentenced up to 17 months for allowing a foster child to be severely abused while in her custody, according to a report from MyFox8.com.
Wanda Larson pleaded guilty to failing to carry out her duties as a social worker in court Tuesday and apologized to the children she was responsible for, the report says.
Larson could be released April 8, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Larson has spent 507 days in jail since she was arrested in November 2013.
