PEORIA, Ariz. — There’s the saying “don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.” A Peoria recycling truck driver could modify that saying to “don’t throw the kitten out with the recycling.”
KTVK reports that Angelo Almendarez was collecting containers along his Peoria route Friday when he heard a strange sound coming from the back of his truck: a kitten’s meow, a city spokeswoman said.
It was the second time Almendarez has rescued a kitten from the back of his truck.
The most recent kitten is a male orange tabby estimated to be only 2 to 2 1/2 weeks old. The kitten is now eating from a bottle, and was adopted by an employee of the city’s Streets Division, the spokeswoman said.
