Three men injured during shooting in Edenton

Edenton, N.C. – Three men were injured in a shooting early Saturday in Edenton.  The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on N. Oakum St.

According to police, Avondre Blount, 21, was shot in the neck and back.  He was taken to Vidant Chowan Hospital and then airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  He is reportedly in serious but stable condition.

Police say Devontay Bond, 25, and Jeramic Stanley, 25, were also injured.  Bond was shot in the leg and Stanley was shot in the arm.  Both men were treated and released from Vidant Chowan Hospital.

It is unclear exactly what led up to the shooting.  Police say they believe multiple witnesses were at the scene.
