Researchers in the Gulf of Mexico were startled this week while recording footage from a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) 1,962 feet below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico.
A curious sperm whale circled the ROV several times, allowing the crew to record some amazing views of the rare encounter as the giant checked out the strange machine that had entered its world. The clip has been watched nearly a million times on YouTube.
