Norfolk, Va. - Stefanie Thompson and her daughter are at their first auction.
"We love it! We got an iPad mini. I think we paid like $160 for it," Thompson said.
Thompson and hundreds of other people were looking to score some deals at Norfolk International Airport's annual auction.
There seemed to be something for everyone.
"It was crazy, like that tool kit with the ax and everything on it. It didn't belong in an airport to begin with," Thompson said.
Virtually all the items were either surplus of the airport or were simply left by people traveling.
The owners have a period of six months to claim the property, but if it goes unclaimed then the airport auctions the items off.
The profits from the auction go back into the airport's general fund.
