Jeffrey Lynn Dyson, 32, was arrested by Henrico Police and charged with public intoxication. According to Dyson, he wasn’t drunk and was given access to the track by people working on the track that day.

“We rode up to the track and got directions from numerous people,” explained Dyson. “We were told where the tunnel was and how to get down into the infield.”

Dyson was taken into custody but released a few hours later. He says he still has to appear in Richmond court for the public intoxication charge but he believes it will be dropped.

Richmond International Raceway hosted the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Toyota Owner’s 400 race over the weekend.
